Prepare to be wracked with deep-seated emotion upon watching Dana Gavanski’s performance of ‘Do You?’ in the atmospheric setting of London’s St Pancras Old Church. The Canadian artist has been singing since she was a child: in her room, to the radio, in choir, and during the boisterous gatherings with her Serbian family. Evidently those years of ad hoc singing have enabled Gavanski to craft her voice into something truly beautiful and with a unique, haunting quality. This performance comes shortly ahead of the official release for ‘Do You?’, preceded by debut single ‘One By One’, which is a meditation on being alone and the melancholy, vulnerability and rebuilding of self that comes with it.
